If you're coming from out of state, you can fly into one of two international airports - Albany (ALB) at 90 minutes and Hartford (BDL) at 2¼ hours. The nearest airport with overseas flights is Boston (BOS) at 3 hours. Remember that a car rental is not the only option -- Amtrak trains pass through close by with stops at Rutland (VT), Brattleboro (VT), Bellows Falls (VT) and Claremont (NH).
